The museum of design in Zurich is an amazing choice to spend some time with your creativity. The museum’s exhibitions vary from time to time and most of them are based on topics like architecture, graphic design, industrial design, photography and the media, as well as cataloguing new developments.

Besides the exhibition the building of the museum itself is a sight to behold.  It resides in Zurich’s former School of Arts and Crafts building and comprises of an exhibition hall, gallery, reception area, cafeteria, shop and the vestibule to the lecture hall. The museum is in collaboration with the Zurich University of the Arts.

It houses four main exhibitions. These are – Design, Graphics, Art Collections, and Posters. It also houses a special library which is open to all visitors and is the perfect place for bookworms to go hide their faces. The museum also features a small gift shop where you can buy souvenirs.

One of the most famous exhibitions of this museum was “Museum in the Dark” where blind or heavily sight impaired museum guides led visitors trough the exhibition. Moreover the exhibition itself was completely blacked out! This was such a huge success that shops, restaurants and museums world over tried similar things.

The museum is known for other such dynamic exhibitions which are a great experience. So if you happen to be in Zurich with nothing to do make sure you check this museum out!
